Electrify Your Home
Montgomery County launched Electrify MC a pilot program to help residents make the switch from fossil fuels like oil, gas and propane to cleaner electric alternatives.
Launched on June 1, 2023, Electrify MC is part of the county’s efforts to promote sustainability, reduce the community’s carbon footprint and support statewide energy efficiency initiatives like Home Performance with ENERGY STAR and EmPOWER Maryland.
Electrify MC simplifies the switch to electric energy for home heating, cooling and other systems. Elysian Energy, a trusted local expert, manages the program and offers guidance throughout the process.
How ElectrifyMC works

- Contact the Electrify MC Help Desk by phone at 301-830-5767 or email them at electrifymc@elysianenergy.com.
- Schedule an energy audit (part of the EmPOWER Maryland program – costs $100)
- Audit and electrification assessment are completed
- Choose among options to improve the performance of your home, including insulation and air sealing, and electrification of HVAC, water heater, stove, and dryer
- Have work completed through Elysian Energy
- Receive applicable electrification direct incentives from the County at the point of sale, and utility rebates for insulation work in 6-8 weeks
