In addition to our video series, here are four tips to help you use less energy in your home to reduce your utility costs and keep more money in your pocket:
- Upgrade to Energy-Efficient Appliances: Replacing old appliances with new energy-efficient models is one of the best ways to use less energy. These appliances consume less power and lead to significant savings over time. Look for the ENERGY STAR label on new appliances.
- Install Smart Thermostats: Smart thermostats help you use less energy by regulating your heating and cooling systems. They automatically adjust temperatures based on your schedule, ensuring your home is comfortable while reducing energy waste. Be sure to look for the ENERGY STAR certification on your smart thermostat.
- Schedule Regular Maintenance: Keep your HVAC system and other major appliances in top shape to use less energy. Regular maintenance ensures they operate efficiently and last longer.
- Use Energy-Efficient Lighting: Switch to LED bulbs to use less energy for lighting. LEDs are more efficient, last longer than traditional bulbs and cut down on costs.
